The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) continues to operate a number of Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) along the east coast of New Jersey. With 27 centers now open across New Jersey FEMA continues to operate the Atlantic City Convention Center, behind the Hamilton Mall in Egg Harbor Township, in the main library in Court May Courthouse and the Emergency Management building at 637 Bridgeton Avenue in Bridgeton, Cumberland County.

The number of residents seeking assistance has been steady since the centers opened. As of Friday afternoon November 16 more than 1,100 residents had passed through the Atlantic City DRC with over 800 in Cape May. Services. In addition to the federal programs represented most centers may also include state agencies such as unemployment and public health. The Atlantic City DRC is also serviced by the New Jersey Department of Insurance, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD.) HUD is available to provide assistance with finding housing and is seeking not only to help displaced individuals but locate new multi-tenant or rental property owners to add to the FEMA Housing Portal.

FEMA will continue to operate the DRCs for the foreseeable future, seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. except all DRCs will be closed for Thanksgiving Day. Residents may register for assistance before going to a DRC at 800-621-FEMA (3362), at <> or on a smart phone through
